Monday, November 18, 2002: moving into the Duluth inner harbor
|
| Built in 1978 as the Algobay, she was renamed the Atlantic Trader in 1994. In 1997, she became the Algobay again. She is 730 feet long and has a 260-foot self-unloading boom on her deck that the crew can use to unload cargo from the five cargo holds she has below deck. On her deck, she has 22 hatches that open into those holds. She is often in the Twin Ports to load coal at Midwest Energy in Superior. She has been laid up since 2002, but may return in a new form in 2009. |
