The Algocape is a bulk freighter built in 1967 by Davie Shipbuilding at Lauzon, Quebec, Canada. She is 730 feet long and has 17 hatches opening into 6 cargo holds below deck. Her owner, Algoma Central, bought her as the Richelieu in 1994 and renamed her to her current name.
