| The Halifax has 16 hatches that open into 6 cargo holds with a maximum cargo capacity of 27,300 tons. Above the deck she has a 250-foot self-unloading boom that allows cargo discharge at a rate of up to 6,000 tons per hour. She is of course named after the city of Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, Canada. The Halifax is owned and operated by Canada Steamship Lines of Montreal Quebec, Canada. |
