| The Stewart J. Cort was the first 1,000-foot boat on the Great Lakes. She was built with the pilothouse, galley, and crew accommodations forward, the only 1,000-footer on the Great Lakes built that way. The structure to the rear (aft) of the Cort houses a unique cargo unloading system. She was named in honor of an officer of Bethlehem Steel. |
